Dishwasher
Dishwashers fail quietly. What you finally notice has usually been building since the previous winter, and the water escaping unseen often costs more than the part that failed.

What we handle
What goes wrong
Whatever finally prompts the call is seldom the origin of the trouble. These are the patterns underneath.
Food trapped in the strainer, the outlet line squashed where the machine sits, or a pump that has stopped spinning altogether.
Mineral build-up coating the heating element and closing up the spray jets. West Island water does this faster than most people expect.
The upper arm has limed over, or the circulation motor can no longer generate the pressure to throw water that high.
The door seal hardens and splits along the lower corner, which only shows under pressure. Occasionally the catch sits crooked, or the tub has a fine crack.
No water being admitted, a level float stuck upward, or a door the controller refuses to accept as closed.
When the element or the thermistor gives out, the programme terminates early and the display often stays blank about it.
Included as standard
Each of these forms part of the job rather than appearing as its own line. The awkward bit is extracting the machine, so once it is clear of the counter we go through everything worth checking.

Codes on the display
What a dishwasher reports falls into three groups: the fill, the heat, and the drain.
If the panel flags a leak, liquid has already pooled in the tray under the machine. Turn off the feed beneath the counter and keep it off. Starting the machine again only pushes further water toward the breach.

From the job sheet
Susan W., Valois
Reported: Twelve months of cloudy tumblers that the owners had simply blamed on local supply.
Found and done: Deposits across the element and inside every jet. Removed the scale from the element, cleared every jet individually, and wrote down the rinse treatment to use each spring and autumn.
Thérèse A., Cedar Park
Reported: The cabinet base had begun to lift at one edge, though nothing could be seen escaping while the machine ran.
Found and done: Door gasket had hardened and split at the lower corner, which only released under pressure. New seal fitted, supply fitting checked while the unit was out, and two cycles watched for any further moisture.
Hugh M., Lakeside Heights
Reported: Several centimetres left in the base at the end, with the machine otherwise behaving normally.
Found and done: The strainer itself looked fine, yet the well beneath held enough residue to choke the pump. Emptied the well, inspected the vanes, and verified complete drainage over a pair of cycles.
Where we work
Dishwasher calls throughout Pointe-Claire. Because water does its damage invisibly, there is little sense in waiting to find out how bad it gets.
If your street is not listed, ring and we will tell you straight away.
How a booking goes
The model number and a description of the fault, either over the phone or through the form. That alone usually narrows things to a handful of parts.
We give you a slot narrow enough to plan around rather than a vague half-day. If a service elevator or a parking permit is involved, that gets sorted now.
Testing happens before anything is dismantled. You then hear one figure covering the whole repair, with nothing added later for having looked.
The machine goes through a full cycle while somebody is still there to watch it, the area gets tidied, and the ninety-day date is printed on your invoice.
